Suki Vernon – MCIPD qualified Communications and HR Change specialist.

With over 20 years’ experience in global HR and Organisational Design roles across multiple businesses, Suki has also recently lead major Behavioural Compliance programmes both in financial and non-financial organisations following investigations from both UK and US regulators.

Suki is currently the Head of People and Culture for a Global Engineering business based in the Midlands. This involves leading the People and Culture transformation programme, driving a high performance culture, improving the performance management process, raising the capability through leadership development and communications & engagement strategies across a multitude of business disciplines including Engineering, Manufacturing, HSE, and Programme Management. During 2016 Suki led the programme to design, consult and implement a single set of terms and conditions and pay structure for 3,000+ employees.

Before setting up her own business, Suki was an integral part of the HR function, for a Global Engineering business focussing on transformation and change programmes. These programmes included designing and implementing the global executive and management development programme, working with the Global HR Director to redesign the HR function including the introduction of HRBP roles and implementing the Global HR Development Framework for all HR personnel, designing and implementing the companies first global induction programme, designing and delivering executive and team development programmes for the companies strategic customers.

Suki has also worked with the mergers and acquisition teams to manage the HR integration during strategic joint ventures, acquisitions and partnerships, including all migration practices, terms and conditions, TUPE and establishing management teams and executive boards.

Previous to this role Suki programme managed a strategic relocation programme for a Global Energy provider by transferring the Trading function from five European countries to one subsidiary in Germany. This included consultation with both UK trade unions and German Works Councils, establishing a cross-border pension scheme, negotiating retention programme against a target of 50% retention (70% was achieved), and developed relocations packages for employees and their families.

Outside of HR Suki has also led or supported behavioural compliance and ethics programmes for both financial and non-financial companies. Following regulator investigations both companies set out people strategies for greater employee engagement, training and communications to meet regulator requirements. Suki has led the People Agenda during a recent SFO investigation and supported the Compliance Change team following a regulator investigation. Both roles required significant change both in how the business conducted itself and how people behaved.

Married and living in Nottingham, Suki has recently focussed much of her time on Executive Coaching and Business Mentoring for The Princes Trust which she has been a member of for 7 years.
